A 19-year-old Tyler man has been charged with murder in connection with an April 20 shooting that left one person dead and two others injured. 

Treyvon Dewayne Maddox was charged on Tuesday with the murder of Keyundta Devor Barrett, 20, of Tyler.  

Maddox was taken into custody the night of the shooting and charged with deadly conduct for discharging a firearm at the gathering in the 4800 block of Tidwell Drive in Tyler.  

Smith County Sheriff Larry Smith said the forensic tests conducted by the Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed the bullet that killed Barrett was fired from the gun Maddox said he shot into the ceiling the night of the incident. 

Smith said the forensic testing also confirmed Maddox likely shot the gun.  

Kentrell Marquie Miller, 21, and Ira Brown Jr., 18, both of Tyler, were shot and sustained injuries that were not life-threatening. 

Jail records show Maddox's bond was set at $250,000. He remained held in the Smith County Jail, according to jail records.
