The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the three people who died in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday in Cherokee County.
Robert Earl Sanders, 64, of Cushing, was driving a 2017 Nissan Altima southwest on Texas Highway 204 while the driver of a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe, Byron Andrew Luna, 54, of Reklaw, was traveling northwest in the opposite direction. The Altima crossed the center stripe and struck the Tahoe, DPS said.
The Tahoe caught fire and Luna was pronounced dead and taken to a funeral home. The Altima stopped in the southbound lane facing southwest and the driver and passenger, Johnny T. Sanders, 84, of Cushing, were both pronounced dead and taken to a funeral home, according to the DPS.
The DPS said the crash remains under investigation.
