DPS IDs man killed
in motorcycle crash
A Tyler man died after being ejected from his motorcycle Sunday morning in Winona.
William Powell, 33, of Tyler, was pronounced dead on the scene of the wreck on County Road 345 just west of Wildcat Drive at about 9:42 a.m., according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Powell’s 2013 black Harley Davidson motorcycle was going east on CR 345 when it veered north off the roadway for an unknown reason into a ditch and struck a tree.
The motorcycle then launched into pasture and came to a stop, according to the DPS preliminary investigation.
DPS said the investigation is still on going.
