The Tyler Woman's Forum is celebrating its 90th year.

The organization was formed in 1923 by Mrs. Gerry Connally issuing invitations to the Federated Literary Clubs of Tyler to join in organizing a luncheon club to be known as the Tyler Woman's Forum.

The new club's stated purpose was "to promote fellowship and cooperative service that would lead to better living conditions, a truer citizenship, and an altruistic viewpoint."

Nine years later that group of women raised the money to build the Tyler Woman's Building with construction completed on June 13, 1932.

These women, and all of the women that have been involved in the Tyler Woman's Forum since that time, are being honored at the annual Reassembly Coffee from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesday at the Tyler Woman's Building. For more information, contact Carol Jones, president, at 903-780-3409.
