A Tyler woman set out Saturday to run 100 miles in order to bring awareness to a cause.

Angelica Gonzalez decided to run the 100 miles to help shine a light on Type 1 diabetes, which affects her 13-year-old son Christian.

At 7 a.m. Mrs. Gonzalez began her run at her work, First Bank and Trust East Texas. She planned to finish up back at First Bank and Trust about 24 hours later.

Friends and family joined Mrs. Gonzalez throughout the day.
