Volunteer instructors are needed to help the Tyler Senior Center expand its activity calendar, enabling more people to participate in activities they enjoy, according to a press release from the city.
The center is seeking people with experience in party bridge, sewing or wood carving to volunteer their services for the new classes. A paid Zumba Gold instructor also is needed. The center, at 1915 Garden Valley Road, serves people ages 55 and better.
"We couldn't offer as many activities as we do without help from our volunteers," Tyler Senior Center Supervisor Kay Odom said in the press release. "We really appreciate them."
The center offers a vast array of activities, but there is growing interest in special interest hobbies that center on fellowship, fun and creativity, Odom said.
Some equipment and supplies will be provided by the center; however, wood working instructors should have their own tools to demonstrate the proper techniques of the craft.
