Tyler Police investigates shooting that left a child injured


Tyler police are investigating a shooting that left one child injured early Monday morning. 

According to officials, around 1:22 a.m. police responded to the 2000 block of Carlyle Avenue in reference to an aggravated assault.

Officers on scene were told that an unknown suspect fired numerous shots into the front of a residence and then fled the scene. A 12 year-old juvenile, who was asleep in bed at the time, was hit in the foot by one of the bullets. The juvenile was transported to the hospital by ambulance and treated for a non-life threatening injury. Officers processed the scene for evidence and an investigation is on-going.

Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed against the suspect in this case or any other felony case.
