A 51-year-old Nacogdoches man was arrested after police say he kicked down a motel room door and forced his wife into his vehicle against her will.
Phillip Jones was arrested on charges of burglary and evading police in a vehicle, according to a Tyler Police Department news release.
Shortly after 11:30 a.m. Monday, police responded to the Super 8 motel at 2616 NNW Loop 323 in reference to a report of a man breaking into a room and taking his wife against her will.
Officers searched the area for the suspect vehicle and located it at Texas Highway 64 West and Loop 323. Officers attempted to pull the vehicle over and the driver failed to comply, leading officers in a slow speed pursuit around Loop 323 back to the Super 8, according to the news release.
There, officers took the suspect into custody and the wife was recovered from the vehicle uninjured.
Jones was taken to the Smith County Jail and booked in, according to the news release.
