Tyler man hospitalized after police say he wrecked his motorcycle while evading them

 

A 29-year-old Tyler man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries on Tuesday after police say he wrecked his motorcycle while evading being pulled over for speeding in a school zone.

At 8:16 a.m., a Tyler Police Department traffic officer attempted to pull over the driver of a motorcycle for speeding in a school zone in the 2000 block of North Forest Avenue.

The driver, identified as Demarcus Keyshawn Johnson, 29, of Tyler, evaded the officer and wrecked in the 3400 block of Garden Valley.

Johnson was taken to East Texas Medical Center. The crash remains under investigation.
