The Tyler Junior College Board of Trustees will hold a public hearing on its 2019-2020 fiscal year proposed tax rate at 11 a.m. Thursday in the White Administrative Services Center on the main campus.
The TJC Board of Trustees has proposed keeping the the tax rate of 19.9926 cents per $100 of valuation, which is the current rate.

Based on the tax rate, the college is estimating approximately $1.5 million in increased revenues again, pending receipt of valuations from the Smith County Appraisal District, officials said. Last year the average home value increased from $152,031 to $155,715.
The final public hearing on the proposed tax rate is set for 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 22.
