City University holds an annual graduation event to honor the accomplishments of employees who complete one or more of the training tracks offered through City University.

The annual graduation was held Friday at Liberty Hall, 103 east Erwin St.

Since its inception, employees have elected to attend more than 30,500 hours of training. The graduation also celebrates the completion of a year-long Leadership Academy class, Lean Six Sigma Green Belts and Black Belts.

Dr. Rick Rigsby was the speaker at Friday’s event. The San Francisco native is a former award-winning journalist, who followed a television news career with six years of graduate school-culminating with a Ph.D. from the University of Oregon.

A college professor for two decades, Dr. Rigsby spent most of those years at Texas A&M University, where he also served as character coach and chaplain for the Aggies football team.
