Tyler Continue CARE Hospital staff members are the recipients of awards presented by Community Hospital Corp.

Stephanie Hyde, chief executive officer of Tyler Continue CARE Hospital, received the 2013 Leadership Excellence Award for passion for enhancing community health care.

Alvin Petty, patient care associate, received the 2013 Dan Wilford Award for Compassion and Community Service in recognition of his unrelenting care for patients and the community.

“I am pleased to recognize Stephanie’s visionary leadership and ability to develop a culture that embraces patient and family needs during difficult times of illness,” said Mike Williams, president and CEO at CHC. “She has been instrumental in moving patient satisfaction from 82 percent to 90 percent, improving staff productivity and attaining physician satisfaction scores of 3.67 on a 4.0 scale.”

In addition to her role as CEO, Ms. Hyde supports the East Texas Crisis Center, St. Paul Children’s Foundation and mentors nursing students at The University of Texas at Tyler.

Petty was noted for an outstanding record in patient care, and the Dan Wilford Award adds to several other “sacred work” awards he has received.

“Through his service, Alvin shows remarkable concern for the welfare of patients and the community as a whole,” Williams said.

Petty also volunteers for The Salvation Army, advocates for cultural diversity in the Tyler community and serves on the area’s school board.

The award recipients were recently recognized at a ceremony held at Tyler Continue CARE Hospital.
