Trial postponed for man accused of killing K-9 officer

 

(KYTX) - District Court Judge Kerry L. Russell granted a motion of continuance Monday for the man accused of killing a Smith County K-9 officer.

The bench trial for Michael Paul Koch was scheduled to begin Monday in the 7th District Court.

Michael Koch, 36, is accused of killing Smith County Constable Precinct 5 K-9 Ogar while fleeing from the scene of a traffic stop. A manhunt for Koch resulted in his arrest in Dallas on Jan. 23, and he was transferred to Smith County on Feb. 19.
