TJC Debate Team Places High in Tournament

The TJC speech and debate team brought home multiple awards from the Bayou City Swing tournaments hosted Oct. 23 to 25 at North Harris College and San Jacinto College. Fifteen universities and colleges from Louisiana and Texas competed in the tournament.

The TJC team includes: Tyler Cole, Whitehouse sophomore; Jacob Savage, Van sophomore; Skyler Walker, Athens sophomore; Earlyssa Cooper, Houston freshman; Gavin Downing, Lindale freshman; Richard Gomez, Fort Worth freshman; Omari Hawkins, Grand Prairie freshman; Dillon Hughes, Princeton freshman; and Clay Woods, Tyler freshman.

The team is under the direction of M’Liss Hindman, TJC speech professor. Assistant director is Joan Andrews, TJC speech professor.
