Tyler police responded to an aggravated assault at Texas College.

Officers received reports of a disturbance taking place on the campus at 1:09 p.m. Sunday in the 2400 block of North Grand Avenue.

When officers arrived, they learned that a female student had been injured with a “wedged weapon.” The victim was transported by private vehicle to a Tyler hospital, where she was treated for her injuries.

After interviewing witnesses, officers arrested Viviyanna Marie El-Amin for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She’s been transported to Smith County Jail.
