Police said an East Texas counterfeiting ring might stretch beyond the four people already in custody, and they're warning the public about fake $20 bills.
On Thursday, Longview Police Department released photos of dozens of fake bills confiscated last week, when two men and a woman were arrested at a local motel. A fourth suspect, 22-year-old Chase Nelson Cook, of Longview, was arrested on Wednesday.
Investigators said there could be more arrests.
"Unfortunately, with counterfeiting rings, a lot of times there's a lot of players in the mix," Longview Police Officer Kristie Brian said. She said people should check for watermarks, print quality and crispness on the currency in the wallets to ensure they are legitimate.
