A teenager has been charged with crimes involving using a stolen gun to rob a Tyler convenience store on Wednesday morning.

Police officers were called to the Valero gas station at 2211 SSW Loop 323 shortly after 8 a.m. Wednesday and were told by the clerk that a young man pulled a gun on her and ran away with the cash she gave him from the register, a news release said.

A short time later, a police officer arrested a teenager in the 2700 block of Seeton Street who matched the suspect's description.

The youth had items stolen from the gas station and a stolen gun, the announcement said.

The 16-year-old is being held in the Tyler/Smith County Juvenile Attention Center.
