Each dog and cat that comes through Dr. Spence's Veterinarian Hospital has a story, and on Saturday, you could become the next chapter.

About 30 dogs will be available for adoption during Saturday's bake sale and adoption event from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday at Nicholas' Pet Haven's new portable adoption center located beside Spence & White Veterinary Hospital, 12901 TX – 155 South in Tyler.

"We do all the follow up care here on the puppies," said Dr. Spence. "All the stuff that needs to be done, we do it at no charge after they are adopted – we recheck them and then they will be responsible afterwards."

Dr. Spence is pleased with some recent adoptions out of his veterinary hospital and hopes the adoption event will be a success for Nicholas' Pet Haven. The adoption event will also include a bake sale and goodies donated by Sister 2 Sister cookie Company. All proceeds will benefit the animals at Nicholas Pet Haven. Along with the adoption event an angel pet tree will be introduced to the public.

"There will be a webpage where there will be a virtual tree on the Internet and you can click on the different ornaments and those will give you the history of the pets," said Dr. Spence adding that the virtual angel pet tree will be up and running soon. "It will allow the public to donate or adopt."
