The Jacksonville ISD school board is asking for public input on who will replace Superintendent Dr. Joe Wardell after he retires.

The board will host a community involvement meeting Nov. 11 in the school's administration building, 800 College Ave., according to a news release.

Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Executive Search Services members, which were hired by the district to facilitate the superintendent search, as well as the board members will be present to hear recommendations on what the community would like to see in the new leader.

The day includes four sessions for specific groups. It will be open to the public from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., with district employees scheduled to meet from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. and the school board will meet from 6:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m., the release states.

"The Jacksonville ISD Board president encourages all members of the community to attend and share their thoughts and insights," the release reads. "Even though meetings are designated for specific groups, each meeting is open to any interested person who wishes to attend."
