The North East Texas Regional Mobility Authority, NET RMA, approved a contractor to build Segment 4 of Toll 49, or the Lindale Relief Route.

The measure was approved Tuesday at NET RMA's monthly board meeting at the Mineola Civic Center in Wood County, according to a news release from NET RMA.

The board selected Webber, LLC, the lowest bidder, at $68.7 million, for the construction.

Webber is one of the state's largest transportation companies.

The Lindale Relief Route, is a 6.6-mile segment that stretches from Interstate 20 to U.S. Highway 69 north of Lindale.

The two-lane undivided road is projected to be complete in 2018, according to NET RMA.

"We are excited about the forward momentum on the next section of Toll 49," Everett Owen, Interim Executive Director of NET RMA, said in a news release.

A 19-member board of directors representing each of the member counties governs the NET RMA govern the agency. Those counties include: Bowie, Kaufman, Cherokee, Gregg, Harrison, Panola, Rusk, Smith, Titus, Upshur, Wood and Van Zandt.
