The mother of the 3-year-old girl who drowned in a pond in New Chapel Hill has been charged in the girl's death.
Tiffany Snyder, the mother of Madison Williams, has been arrested on charges of injury to a child, the Smith County Sheriff's Office announced in a news release.
Williams was found dead in a pond in the New Chapel Hill area on Aug. 18 after a search by first responders. She had been reported missing that morning. An autopsy confirmed that she drowned.
Judge Kerry Russell of the 7th District Court issued the warrant for Snyder's arrest. He set the bond at $200,000.
Snyder, 29, of Tyler, was booked in the Smith County Jail on Monday. There were no records of her release by 5 p.m.
