The Salvation Army is looking for volunteers to help provide Christmas gifts for people in need.
Through the organization's Angel Tree program, people volunteer to "adopt" a child or senior citizen and purchase a gift or gifts for that person.
The nonprofit started this year with 3,000 angels and, as of Thursday evening, 670 remained available for adoption. Sunday is the last day to adopt these angels and turn in gifts.
To adopt an angel, go to the Christmas tree in front of J.C. Penney at Broadway Square Mall in Tyler.
The paper ornaments on a table in front of the tree have a child or senior citizen's first name on it and a description of what they need/want for Christmas. If clothes or shoes are requested, sizes are provided.
Salvation Army volunteers will be set up at the tree from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
