Executives, consultants, authors and other experts will join Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai on May 8 to speak about leadership to audiences in Tyler and across the world via telecast.

Leadercast is a one-day event broadcast live to hundreds of locations around the globe. The Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce and Leadership Tyler are partnering for the third year to bring Leadercast to Tyler. It will be held at Green Acres Baptist Church CrossWalk Conference Center, 1607 Troup Highway.

Broadcast live from Atlanta, Georgia, this year's theme, "The Brave Ones," includes leaders who choose to operate in ways that make the people around them better, stronger and crazy enough to believe they can change the world, according to the chamber.

Henry Bell, CEO of the Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce, said Leadercast is an excellent opportunity to gain leadership insights in a one-day seminar.

"Tyler is growing fairly rapidly and the leadership is growing older," he said. "There is a pretty good demand for leaders. This program offers some one-day experience to (learn) what (qualities) other leaders have and help in their growth."

Bell said the chamber upped the number of seats available this year because a group in Longview decided not to broadcast Leadercast this year. Several other groups in East Texas are broadcasting the speeches, but Tyler is the closest to Longview, he said. A total of 800 tickets will be sold.

As of Thursday, 250 tickets remained. They can be purchased at eventbrite.com until they sell out — or May 8.

Leadercast will have an excellent lineup of speakers — from chief executive officers of national companies, to speakers, authors, politicians and a military veteran.

Speakers will include Ms. Yousafzai, Nobel Laureate and founder of The Malala Fund; Ed Catmull, president of Pixar & Disney Animation Studios; Rudy Giuliani, 107th mayor of New York City from 1993 to 2001; Andy Stanley, leadership author and communicator; Bill McDermott, CEO of SAP SE; Aja Brown, Mayor of the city of Compton, California; Cmdr. Rorke Denver, Navy SEAL commander and author; Peyton Manning, professional football player and Super Bowl-winning quarterback; and Seth Godin, innovative thinker and best-selling author.

Hosts are Bill and Giuliana Rancic, stars of the hit reality TV show "Bill and Giuliana," which is on its seventh season on E!

Bell said he is most excited to hear from Peyton Manning and Malala Yousafzai.

"Talk about brave — she's the ultimate definition of that," he said.

The event serves as a fundraiser for the Tyler Chamber and Leadership Tyler.

Members of the Tyler Chamber and Leadership Tyler can purchase tickets for $75. Non-members can buy tickets for $80. Tickets for a table of six can be bought for $70, and a table of eight can be reserved for $81.25 each.

The program will begin with registration at 7 a.m. The first session will start at 8 a.m. and will conclude by 3:30 p.m. Snacks and lunch will be provided and door prizes will be given. Books also will be available for purchase from the speakers, and each participant will receive a workbook with information about the topics.
