Wet roads Thursday morning contributed to an accident that claimed the life of a Chandler woman, officials said.
Department of Public Safety Trooper Jean Dark said 41-year-old Jody Lyn Phillips was killed Thursday about 9:53 a.m. when the vehicle in which she was a passenger lost control and skidded into the path of a 2012 GMC pickup.
Trooper Dark said the 2010 Honda Accord driven by Lance Phillips, 26, was headed south on Farm-to-Market Road 279. The GMC pickup driven by Bernardo Alvarado was headed south when the two collided in the western part of the county bordering the Neches River.
Trooper Dark said Lance Phillips sustained non life-threatening injuries and was transported to Mother Frances in Tyler. There were no injuries in the other vehicle.
