Jury selection is scheduled to begin March 25 in the trial of the Mabank woman who confessed to shooting and killing her two young daughters on Nov. 2, 2017.

The trial for Sarah Nicole Henderson, 31, is scheduled to begin on April 1, according to Henderson County judicial records.

The 392nd Judicial District Court coordinator said jury summonses will go out in February to 1,000 citizens in Henderson County.

Jury selection is scheduled to be held at 8:30 a.m. March 25 at the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center in Athens.

The court said it will conduct judge's voir dire, or questioning of prospective jurors, to pick the qualified jurors. The qualified jurors who don't claim a legal exemption will be scheduled for individual voir dire in the 392nd District Courtroom.

Officials said that process could last up to two weeks and the jury will begin to hear evidence once it is selected and seated.

Henderson was arrested in November after her husband, Jacob Henderson, called 911 to report the shootings at their home near Mabank. The girls were 5 and 7.

Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse previously said Henderson confessed to shooting her children and the investigation revealed she had planned for at least two weeks to kill her young daughters and husband before fatally shooting the girls early in the morning of Nov. 1.
