Jacksonville High School Homecoming King gives away his crown to autistic classmate

The Jacksonville High School Homecoming crowning was a class act this year after the King, Cameron High, was announced and instead of keeping the crown, he chose to place his crown on the head of a fellow nominee and longtime friend, Darius Holman.

Holman, who is autistic, is now considered the 2016 Homecoming King for Jacksonville High School. Bianca Pinuelas was named Jacksonville High School's homecoming queen.

When asked why he decided to give the award to his friend, Darius, Cameron said, "it was just the right thing to do."

"I always try to think of others instead of myself," Cameron said. "I've known Darius since we were little, and we've been friends a long time. He needed to get this and feel special. I told my mom beforehand that if I won I was going to give it to him, and it felt great to see his smile."
