Investigation ongoing after man exposed himself on TJC campus


Tyler Junior College police are looking for a suspect accused of exposing himself in the school’s library on Friday.

Campus police were called at 1:20 p.m. Friday after a female student in Vaughn Library reported that a black male sat down next to her on a bench and exposed himself, according to a news release.

Kim Lessner said officers were able to match the description given by the victim to security footage. The man is described as a black male, 6 feet tall with a slim build. He appeared to be about 20 years old and was wearing a maroon pullover and blue jeans with a gray backpack. The victim did not see a student ID lanyard or any indication that he was a TJC student, Lessner said.

The suspect was last seen exiting the north side of the library.

Campus police issued a campuswide alert after the incident and patrols of the campus and nearby areas have been increased as they investigage.
