For the second year, a group of Hogg Middle School students will raise and lower the flags each school day at the Tyler Woman's Building.
The Tyler Woman's Forum worked with the school's social studies teachers to select students to complete the task.
The eighth-graders are Beverly Odhiambo, Merary Melchor, Kesmond Collins, Tamya Williams, Stevie Wilbanks, Ronin Stamps and Ismael Melchor.
They will raise the American and Texas flags before school and lower them after school at the building on 911 S. Broadway Ave., across the street from the Hogg campus, according to a news release about the program.
Staff Sgt. Ricky Duran volunteered to instruct the students on proper flag-raising and flag-lowering procedures.
In recognition of the collaboration between the school and the Tyler Woman's Forum, organization leaders recognized Hogg Principal Josh Garred and Hogg counselor Marsha Cummins at the annual reassembly coffee last week.
