FRANKSTON (KYTX) - An employee of Frankston ISD was jailed on two counts of indecency with a child and one count of displaying harmful material to a minor, according to information provided by the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.
According to a statement from the sheriff's office, detectives arresed Thomas E. Scroggins, 25, on Friday, after executing a search warrant in the 200 block of Lake Road in the Shady Brook subdivision near Bullard.
Scroggins, who was employed with Frankston ISD maintenance department at the time of his arrest, was booked into the Cherokee County Jail on two counts of Indecency with a child, a third degree felony, and one count of display of harmful material to a minor, a class A misdemeanor.
The investigation into Scroggins began with accusations by one victim, who told investigators of inappropriate conduction by Scroggins toward that victim and two others. During the initial investigation into that victim's accusations, other victims were identified.
An initial interview with Scroggins after his arrest indicated there may be other victims that have not come forward or been identified. Each of the incidents in question reportedly occurred at or near Scroggins residence in Shady Brook.
Scroggins also attended a local church in Frankston, and was involved with Little League Baseball in that community.
Cherokee County Detectives have made contact with Frankston ISD and the church he attended to make them aware of the ongoing investigation so they could make a determination on his status with them upon his release from Cherokee County.
Officials with the office added that due to the nature of the accusations and potential for more victims, they felt it important to notify the public of the accusations against Scroggins and his involvement with minors. Parents of children who may have had contact with Scroggins and suspect inappropriate conduct with their child are encouraged to contact the office at 903-683-2271.
