Former Wood County Jail Administrator sentenced to two years in prison for tampering with governmental record


A former Wood County Sheriff's Office Jail Administrator was sentenced to two years in prison on Tuesday for tampering with a governmental record.

David McGee was accused of making a false alteration to a Texas Department of Criminal Justice letter regarding the expiration date of a female inmate's sentence in January, a news release from the Wood County District Attorney's Office states.

After 20 minutes of deliberation, a Wood County Jury found him guilty, the news release further states.  Judge Jeff Fletcher, 402nd Judicial District judge, assessed punishment of two years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice's Institutional Division.
