Former Hallsville student sentenced in fatal wreck

A former Hallsville High School student charged with killing a man in a drunken-driving wreck has been sentenced to 18 months in state jail for criminal negligent homicide.

 Additionally, 21-year-old Cayden Dean Ferrill of Hallsville was sentenced to eight years probation for aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury to two other occupants that were traveling in the vehicle he hit on July 19, 2014, that caused the death of Bobby Dan Wikinson, 64, of Colmesnell.
