East Texas stays hot, but not under heat advisory on Friday

East Texas may be out from under a heat advisory, but that doesn't mean it will be cool.

"It'll be another seasonably hot July summer day here in East Texas," KYTX CBS Meteorologist Ashley Kramlich said. "Heading into the afternoon hours, expect mostly sunny conditions with a high near 97."

On a positive note, humidity will be down.

"The good news is that our heat index will be from 100 to 105, which is below heat advisory criteria," Kramlich said. "For the weekend a backdoor cold front will sweep through, allowing a slight dip in temperatures and allow for some isolated afternoon showers."
