Progress continues on the soon-to-open Aldi Grocery Store in Tyler.

The store, 200 SSW Loop 323, is slated to open this fall, according to Aldi Denton Division Vice President Scott Huska.

The chain operates nearly 1,400 U.S. stores in 32 states, primarily from Kansas to the East Coast, and serves more than 30 million customers each month, according to its website.

According to the company’s website, it “sells more than 1,300 of the most frequently purchased grocery and household items, primarily under its exclusive brands ...”

The chain streamlines its approach to staffing, needing only 10 to 20 employees per store.

Huska said the company has a strong track record of paying its employees market-leading wages and offering benefits well above minimum wage requirements.

“In fact, we offer our employees generous compensation that is higher than other grocery retailers in the market,” Huska said. “Part-time staff working at least 25 hours per week also receive full health insurance benefits and dental coverage, and all Aldi employees are invited to participate in our 401(k) program.”
