The man reportedly ran through a wooded area west of Academy and down a hill, before climbing atop the roof of Best Buy in the Longview Plaza Shopping Center, where a shootout ensued with officers. Stoudt says the suspect was shot in the neck, and has been taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Tim Bryan says he has not been called to aid in the investigation at this hour. He has seen Gregg County emergency command, Longview SWAT officers and upper-level officers with Longview Police Department at the scene this morning.
