One person was killed and five injured in a Rusk County wreck Wednesday night.

The two-vehicle accident happened at the intersection of Farm-to-Market Road 95 and U.S. Highway 84, near Mount Enterprise, about 6:30 p.m., according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Dawson Alan Masters, 49, was driving east on U.S. 84 when he ran a stop sign and struck a driver heading north on FM 95.

Passenger Debbie Masters, 54, was air-lifted to Mother Frances Hospital where she died. The driver of the car that was struck, Michael Kenneth Howart, of Lufkin, also was taken to the Tyler hospital, where he was treated and released, according to DPS.
