Cycling enthusiasts will have the opportunity to participate in the sport they love while supporting the fight against sex trafficking during the Second Annual Tyler Grit and Glide.
The race starts at 2 p.m. Oct. 26 with onsite race day registration available from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Registration and details also are available on Bikereg.com.
The race at Faulkner Park is a combined mountain/road event with a tri-style transition area between the two courses, all for one combined time, according to a news release about it.
Expert (13/26 mile) and novice (6.5/13 mile) distances are available, along with team spots.
For people who want to compete but in only one style of riding, there is the option of having one partner do the road course and one the trail course.
Registration is $10 with proceeds benefiting For The Silent, a Tyler-based nonprofit organization fighting sex trafficking. Last year's event raised more $2,000.
Prizes, swag, free food and drinks will be available. Local sponsors include Elite Bicycles, Simpson's Fitness & Adventure Sports and the Tyler Bicycle Club.
