The suspects in a credit card fraud case were indicted in the latest session of the Smith County grand jury.

The Tyler Police Department asked for help identifying Gloria Esperanza Martinez, 29, of Dallas, and an accomplice, David Paul Dupre, 26, on June 29.

Martinez and Dupre are accused of committing felony credit card fraud in Tyler and towns in the surrounding area.

Police believe they were committing these crimes using re-encoded credit cards with stolen information to purchase gift cards. The gift cards were being used to obtain cash or merchandise.

The Smith County grand jury indicted Martinez and Dupre for engaging in organized criminal activity, a first-degree felony.

Martinez was booked into the Smith County Jail on July 10 and is being held in the Smith County Jail on a $500,000 bond, according to jail records. She also faces charges for credit and debit card abuse in Van Zandt County, according to jail records.

Dupre was arrested July 7 and is being held in the Denton County Jail on a $643,517 bond. He faces credit card and debit card abuse charges in Denton, Colin and Van Zandt counties and a drug charge in Denton County.

The grand jury also indicted a 40-year-old Tyler woman on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Rebecca Ann O’Neal was arrested after the Tyler Police Department responded to a report of a disturbance in the 700 block of North Moore Avenue on Aug. 28.

Police found O’Neal standing in the street dripping with blood, holding a knife in her hand. Victims told police O’Neal had picked up a brick and thrown it at them, drawn a knife and punched her hand through a window, which caused the cuts on her arm.

Martinez, Dupre and O’Neal were among 28 others indicted on 37 felony charges by the latest grand jury.
