Columnist John Moore
to speak in Overton
McMillan Memorial Library, 401 S. Commerce, Overton, will have its first Book Talk of 2020 at noon Jan. 21 with Tyler resident, columnist and communications professional John Moore.
Moore will discuss his books, “Write of Passage: A Southerner’s View of Then and Now” and “Write of Passage Volume II.”
His books are a collection of his columns from his years of writing for the Tyler Morning Telegraph. Moore writes about growing up in the ‘70s and ‘80s in rural Arkansas and living in East Texas.
He said he avoids writing about politics because it starts arguments, and avoids stories that are date and place specific.
A light lunch will be served in the program room of McMillan Memorial Library. Call the library, 903-834-6318, for more information.
