Christus Trinity Mother Frances Health System on Sunday dedicated its state-of-the-art Herrington-OrnelasHealthPark.
The 43,500-square-foot facility, which sits on five and a half acres, houses the health system's physical therapy services, a fitness center with a lap pool, an urgent care center, imaging services and a lab. It eventually will house locations for the Ross Breast Center and a sleep center.
It has space for 12 primary care physicians, including doctors from Tyler and Whitehouse.
At least six more advanced practice providers new to the system will be added later, officials have said.
The health park is at 3593 East Grande Blvd. near the intersection of Texas Highway 110 near Whitehouse.
Christus Trinity Mother Frances has a clinic in Whitehouse, which, as of Monday, will be relocated to the new health park.
The health system broke ground on the facility in February thanks to a gift from philanthropists Louise and Joseph Z. Ornelas.
The facility is named after Mrs. Ornelas' brother, Bill Herrington, and her husband, Joseph Z. Ornelas.
Dr. Steven Keuer, president and chief medical officer at Christus Trinity Mother Frances, previously said leaders hope it will be a center for wellness, for a healthy lifestyle, for fitness and for healing.
