JACKSONVILLE - Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division arrested two suspects Monday after executing a search warranted for suspected narcotics at a residence in the 900 block of Bonner Street.

Charles Wayne Bates, 62, was charged with manufacture or delivery of substance in Penalty Group 1, a first-degree felony. Stacy Lynn Sheets, 45, was charged with possession of substance in Penalty Group 1, a state jail felony.

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, Sheriff’s Office uniformed personnel and Jacksonville Police Department executed the search warrant. Seized from the residence was approximately one-quarter ounce of suspected methamphetamine, U.S. currency and other contraband.

Both suspects are from Jacksonville and were arraigned by Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Tony Johnson, who set bond for Bates at $75,000 and for Sheets, $10,000. Sheets posted bond before noon Tuesday. Bates remains in the Cherokee County Jail.
