LONGVIEW (KYTX) - Police say a 50-year-old Carthage woman brought two knives to a Longview train station, using one to threaten a man.
Laura Lee Storm is being held in the Gregg County Jail on $8,000 bond today. This is her fifth arrest in Gregg County since February 20. That includes an April 25 arrest for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon arrest by Longview Police Department. However, she plead guilty July 16 to a lesser charge of deadly conduct, received a 240-day sentence in county jail, and released from jail that day on credit for time served.
According to Longview police, moments after 2 p.m. Sunday, a victim told investigators that he feared for his life when Storm placed a knife on the left side of his stomach at the Greyhound Bus Lines station, in the 900 block of Pacific Avenue. Officers said they noticed a small mark on the victim's stomach.
Storm told police she was meeting the victim, who she said was an old friend, and while they were talking, she pulled one a blade and stuck it near his side, according to court reports. Officers say Storm had two knife blades concealed in her bra. "She said she was joking and implied that she did not make contact with his skin," officers said in a probable cause report.
Storm is charged with second degree felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana, after officers found 0.1088 ounces of the drug inside a pill bottle in her backpack, according to court reports.
