ATHENS — The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest on drug charges after searching an Athens motel room Friday.
The sheriff’s office found Bill Duane Monday, 34, of Athens, with meth, baggies for packaging and selling, syringes with meth and other drug paraphernalia, according to a news release.
Monday was arrested on felony manufacturing and delivery of methamphetamine charges. He is in Henderson County Jail awaiting arraignment, according to the release.
“It seems he was caught setting up shop in a motel room away from his own house in his own hometown,” Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse said. “Well, he learned that packing up and leaving home to check in to a local motel and sell drugs to anyone who comes knocking offers no protection from us.”
Investigators and deputies searched the Budget Inn Motel in the 300 block of U.S. Highway 175 in Athens with a search warrant signed by 392nd District Judge Scott McKee.
“These are the kind of arrests that send chills down the backs of dealers,” Hillhouse said. “It shows there is no safe place in Henderson County to sell their contraband, and it proves this office will track these folks down wherever they are.”
