Tennis players at All Saints Episcopal Upper School showed their dedication goes well beyond the court.

The school's junior varsity and varsity tennis teams in two days donated 140 pairs of gently used shoes for the Benevolence Center, a ministry of the West Erwin Church of Christ.

The students donated twice as many shoes as they were challenged to, according to an All Saints news release.

The team already has a connection to the church through volunteer work. Several tennis team members have helped to serve free meals for more than 150 people at the Karing Kitchen, a cooperative ministry of six local churches.

"As an All Saints family, we are blessed," tennis coach Andrea Booth said. "I find it encouraging and inspiring to see how eager our kids are to give to those in need."
