A Cherokee County woman has been sentenced to seven years’ probation for shooting her dog and sharing the death in a social media video.
Kimberly Diaz pled guilty to animal cruelty Monday after she admitted to shooting her dog, filming the death and sharing the video on Facebook, according to the Cherokee County District Attorney’s Office.
Under her probation agreement, Diaz was required to give up custody of all animals. She is prohibited from controlling any animal and is required to complete an evaluation for psychological counseling, the district attorney’s office said.
Diaz is required to complete regular conditions of probation as well as special rules required by law relating to animal cruelty cases.
