Twisted Root Burger Co. will open in Broadway Square Mall today at 11:00 a.m.

Known for being on Food Network's "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives," Twisted Root Burger Co. was founded by three Dallas chefs who say they were sick of eating frozen, tiny and under-seasoned burgers. They opened the original Twisted Root in 2006. Twisted Root's philosophy is good food fast - not fast food.

The owners pride themselves in using fresh, premium ingredients to create burgers that are made to order with choice of everything from black Angus beef, poultry and black beans to exotic wild game like kangaroo, ostrich and camel, when available.

Guests can choose from dozens of toppings, including house made pickles and condiments, or select one of the quirky house favorites such as the "Enough Said" burger with aged cheddar, bacon ranch sauce and potato chips. The "Spicy Goat" is made with chipotle sauce, goat cheese and bacon, and and the "Sexy Hawaiian," comes with jalapeño jack cheese, teriyaki sauce, pineapple and prosciutto.

The restaurant also offers salads, burger bowls and gluten-free options. Other menu highlights include melted cheddar fries, fried green beans, hand-spun custard shakes and homemade root beer.

"We're thrilled to welcome Twisted Root to Broadway Square Mall," Candace Foster, Director of Marketing and Business Development for the mall, said. "We continually look for opportunities to enhance our visitors' experiences with a unique mix of restaurants and retailers, and we are proud to offer a delicious dining option that's sure to be a local favorite."

The restaurant will be at the main entrance next to James Avery Craftsman. The 6,033 square-foot family-friendly restaurant will feature funky music-themed décor, a bar and patio space.
