Shari Lee, Visit Tyler vice president and general manager of conventions, was named chair of the board of the Texas Association of Convention and Visitor Bureaus at the organization’s annual conference this month.
The Texas Association of Convention and Visitor Bureau’s mission is to provide cooperative action to enhance and encourage the growth of the convention and visitor industry in Texas.
“I’m excited to represent the Tyler area as part of the TACVB Board,” Lee said. “I have a lot of ideas for the upcoming year on how we can not only market Tyler as an excellent visitor destination, but also how to work with these other cities to market Texas as a whole.”
The position is a one-year term, where Lee will lead the board in helping members with professional development opportunities and tools to help meet the changing needs of members, meeting planners and visitors to the State of Texas.
The Texas Association of Convention and Visitor Bureaus is the largest state CVB association in the United States, with more than 150 Texas member bureaus and 400 individual members.
