The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Smith, Wood and Upshur counties will host a Pond Management Field Day June 6 at Sandy Springs Ranch.
Topics on the program include pond and wildlife management. Speakers are Ken Hale, pond management consultant, and Dusty Allen of Texas Wildlife Services.
Registration starts at 8:30 a.m., with the program beginning at 9 a.m. and ending at 11 a.m. Cost is $10.
Two CEUs will be given toward the Private Applicator License. If you have a pond weed that you would like to have identified, please bring the sample in a container (bucket or plastic bag) with water in it. The fresher the sample, the better chance of it not wilting and being easier to identify. Also bring sunscreen and a lawn chair.
Sandy Springs Ranch is 1.4 miles east of Farm-to-Market Road 2869, across Texas Highway 154 from T&S Dairy. Look for signs posted at the turn. Please RSVP to the Smith County Extension Office at 903-590-2980. If you have any further questions, please contact Clint Perkins at the Smith County Extension Office.
I look forward to seeing you there!
