BACKGROUND: The late Jake and Helen Townley established "one on one" solutions for wear problems in slurry applications. Established in 1963 on Christian principles, their foundation has grown to become a trusted source for solving abrasion and corrosion issues in slurry applications found in mining and coal fired power plants. The company provides product to the minerals, mining, power and energy industry around the globe from its six manufacturing locations in the United States, including the facility in New Summerfield.

PRODUCTS: What began with an innovative urethane formulation known as Towniprene, Townley created a complete product offering with more than 1,000 standard items, including slurry pumps, submersible pumps, cast foundry products, valves, hand-built rubber hoses, rubber lining, Towniprene wear parts, and Towniprene flotation parts, according to www.townley.net.

Townley's development of just the right process for forming his Towniprene replacement parts has stood the test of history and 50 years later remains little changed. Townley's formula and material today is widely accepted around the globe and is produced at its regional manufacturing plants to serve its customers with a local capability.
