Soon, Kilgoreites won’t have to drive to a nearby city when they want to “EAT MOR CHIKIN.”
The City of Kilgore released a variety of documents Thursday confirming the planned construction of a new Chick-fil-A restaurant in the city in response to an information request from Kilgore News Herald.
According to the documents, Chick-fil-A No. 4725 will be constructed at 910 N. Kilgore St. — the current home of a Regions Bank building, located near several other shops and fast food restaurants.
Kilgoreites have been anxiously awaiting news of the development for quite some time, as evidenced by queries and claims posted to social media since this past fall.
Chick-Fil-A, arguably the world’s most famous chicken sandwich restaurant, announced this fall it will open stores in both Lindale and Jacksonville. Rumors have had the franchise opening in Kilgore, including a popular post on Facebook in late October. But city and area economic development officials could not confirm the plan at the time.
Thursday’s release of information confirms plans are in place to bring the eatery’s famous sandwiches, waffle fries, milkshakes and more to the City of Stars.
The application for the development was filed by Costorde, LLC, of Houston. The project’s civil engineer is Wier & Associates, LLC, of Arlington and the architect is Mayse & Associates, Inc., of Dallas. The landscape architect is Manley Land Design of Alpharetta, Georgia.
The restaurant chain has a presence in Tyler, three stores in Longview, and other nearby cities are getting the popular restaurant, located in 47 states.
