Doke joins accounting firm
Gollob Morgan Peddy PC Certified Public Accountants, is pleased to announce the addition of Austin Doke to the firm. Graduating from The University of Texas at Tyler in 2017, Doke received his BBA in finance and management.
Bankers leadership division
Zach Gilbert of Texas Bank and Trust was recently elected to the Independent Bankers Association of Texas Leadership Division board of directors. IBAT is the largest state community banking association in the nation, and the nearly 700-member Leadership Division is dedicated to developing the next generation of community bank leaders.
Gilbert, assistant vice president at Texas Bank and Trust in Tyler, was elected Region 5 president, which includes 15-plus counties in East Texas. He will hold the position through 2021.
A graduate of Texas Tech University with an agricultural and applied economics degree, he was a member of the 2008 National Champion Livestock Judging Team. He is also a graduate of the University of Oklahoma Economic Development Institute. Gilbert and his wife attend Green Acres Baptist Church. He enjoys golfing, hunting, playing sports and other outdoor activities, and traveling.
Director of Soccer
Manchester School of Soccer, a soccer provider that utilizes a British coaching methodology, has been selected to manage soccer programming at the Tyler Athletic and Swim Club. Keyron Facey-Price has been named director of soccer.
The Tyler program will feature an all-encompassing offering that includes private lessons, team practices, introductory junior program, adult co-ed soccer, seasonal camps and the Center of Excellence.
“We’re thrilled to be launching in Tyler,” Facey-Price said. “Not only is there a rich history of soccer in the area, but our facilities are second to none. We can’t wait for the East Texas players to show us their quality, and enjoy everything that we have to offer.”
“Adding a highly skilled group like Manchester School of Soccer is a huge boost for our club,” said Jeremy Bumgardner, general manager of Tyler Athletic and Swim Club. “We are inviting all the East Texas soccer players to come out for our open house Sept. 19 and 21.”

Brookshire’s truck driver receives safety award
Brookshire Grocery Co. truck driver Layne Arant achieved the milestone of 1 million safely driven miles. Arant is one of 25 company drivers to have ever logged 1 million safely driven miles during their careers with BGC.
Arant reached the milestone while driving from the company’s distribution center in Monroe, Louisiana, to the Tyler distribution center. Company leaders joined Arant’s coworkers on Thursday to congratulate him upon his arrival in Tyler. BGC also will host a celebration for Arant at the distribution center in Monroe.
Arant has more than 25 years of experience as a BGC truck driver based in Monroe. He has been awarded numerous honors at the Louisiana State Truck Driving Championship, including first place in the 4-axle category in 2015 and first place in the flatbed category in 2013 and 2014. Arant has also received the BGC Truck Driver of the Year Award three times and been named a “Highway Angel” by the Truckload Carriers Association for stopping to assist a group of teenagers when their car caught fire.
